Background

Instead of using a single on-board camera and one recorder, one can use the VideoSchalter to record up to four cameras onto a single recorder. The video feeds from the cameras are switched sequentially to the recorder. It can also record GPS data and G-force in 3D to a microSD card. Furthermore it has Geofencing capabilities and it can be controlled by a simple remote control.

History

This is not the first version of the VideoSchalter. The previous version was already made commercially available under the name Videoswitch. This was also the version with which most of the reference projects were created - mostly motor sport events. Through the continued use in several rally cups, e.g. Suzuki Rally Cup, German Rally Championship (DRM), a lot of experience was gained and used to continuously improve the Videoswitch and to design this new version.

The working title for this version was, as it is a the successor of the Videoswitch, Videoswitch2 and is now renamed and distributed as VideoSchalter.
